Data Deposit Box Online Data Backup Expert Tips: Architecting Cloud Systems for the Enterprise

While there are hundreds of advisories out there telling you that adopting the cloud is good for you, there are very few detailed expositions of how this can be made possible. Ready-to-use public or private or hybrid cloud formulas will help you set up your specific flavor of the cloud and kick start your business into operative action. But that is all it does. All kinds of complexities and decision points rear up and must be resolved before the cloud implementation can be rendered complete and operable.

It should be remembered that every enterprise has its own dynamic mix of legacy systems, operating environments and industry specific standards/ processes to integrate with any computing system that is adopted. It follows that cost effective, secure custom cloud architectures must be painstakingly constructed with complete understanding of the underlying principles of the construct and the business!

One method of resolving the dynamism of the business environment and integrating the existing diversity of legacy systems is the use of agent based cloud architectures. These systems use software level constructs across non-homogenous systems to implement and support any overheads. A significant amount of effort and complexity is involved and customization requirements are large as agent versions and agent dependencies burgeon or agents refuse to “best fit” with a legacy application. The agent based systems also totter on the brink of becoming legacy systems in their own right creating more complications in the long run with upgrades and add on issues complicating technology refresh every time.

We, at Data Deposit Box, offer our customers excellent cloud architectures. These architectures are neither prescriptive nor restrictive and do not have dependencies on any particular standard or technology. The system works on the principle that all information required by a system is embedded in the system and this information can be extracted and used to create an architectural framework that is “best fit” at all times. No additional layer needs to be introduced. The architecture confers freedom to change or replace bits of code without concern for the impact on the software. There are no data access problems to contend with as the intelligent parsing methodology facilitates access from any kind of homegrown, legacy or proprietary system. Data Deposit Box’s monitoring systems return system metrics on logical and physical disk utilization; network utilization; virtual and physical memory; system level information; aggregate processor utilization and process availability on demand.
