Company Expands Executive Team with the Addition of Randall Jackson as Vice President of Sales
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – September 17, 2015 – /BackupReview.info/ — SwiftStack, the leader in a new breed of object storage for Enterprises, today announced two team additions to address the growing market demand for its new breed of object storage. SwiftStack has named Randall Jackson as Vice President of Sales, and Storage industry luminary Jay Kidd has joined its Advisory Board.
“IT infrastructure – servers, networks and storage – is undergoing a complete rearchitecture,” said Kidd. “Triggered by rampant virtualization everywhere in the stack, the power of open source, and the shift to consumption-oriented business models, every traditional approach to building and deploying IT is being challenged. SwiftStack is right at the heart of this change, and their approach to delivering affordable, extensible, and easily consumable storage built on the power of the open source community is refreshingly elegant. I look forward to working with the team to accelerate the market changes, and to deliver capabilities that ease the customer’s transition to the next phase of IT.”
Kidd is an industry luminary that has been a key predictor of major storage shifts and technology trends. He has previously served as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Marketing Officer for NetApp, and Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Product Management at Brocade. He has also held leadership positions with Omneon Video Networks, Multigen, Silicon Graphics (SGI), and HP. Kidd holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.
“Consumption in the storage marketplace has changed, and we are actively building on the innovative ideas and proven experience of major industry experts,” said Don Jaworski, CEO of SwiftStack. “Jay’s insights will directly influence our strategy and vision for storage, and Randall’s depth of expertise from his tenure at MongoDB will help us to execute on new methods of converting both Enterprise and mode 2 open source users into recurring revenue.”
Jackson is a senior sales and business leader with a proven ability to help companies drive and sustain growth, open new markets, and gain market share against larger and entrenched competition. Prior to SwiftStack, Jackson drove enterprise sales in North America for MongoDB where he closed the largest opportunity in MongoDB history in his first quarter at the company and significantly increased sales and product footprint in strategic accounts. He has also held strategic sales positions with MarkLogic, Visual Analytics and Verity.
“Customers are making tough trade-offs around what data they must keep and what data they can afford to store,” said Jackson. “Businesses need value from all of their data, which is made possible only when they remove tradeoffs and can feasibly access all of their current and historical data. I am eager to help Enterprises and partners achieve their business goals using data delivered and managed from SwiftStack storage.”
