VP of Federal Operations will focus on the role of copy data virtualization for Federal agencies

BOSTON, MA – December 1, 2015 — / – Actifio, the copy data virtualization company, today announced that Bob Carter, VP of Federal Operations at Actifio, will deliver a featured “Ignite Talk” at the ninth annual C5ISR Summit in Charleston, South Carolina, taking place on December 1-4 at the Charleston, SC Area Convention Center. The talk – part of the Ignite Talk series moderated by Actifio’s Mike Howard, Director of DOD, DHA and COCOMs – will focus on the role of copy data virtualization in fulfilling the missions of United States military and other Federal agencies.

According to MeriTalk, by 2024 government agencies will spend as much as $16.5 billion storing redundant copies of non-production data, which represents a significant challenge to the Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative. Carter and Howard will be drawing on their extensive experience from both the IT and Federal space to share practical insights into the benefits and considerations of copy data virtualization as a service and how this strategy has supported many key government technology initiatives.

“Actifio has made a significant investment in the accreditation and certification process to ensure the secure management of mission critical data sets in the DoD and Intel Community.  Through the secure virtualization of data, Actifio dramatically reduces infrastructure, development and cloud migration costs through the power of our our instant mount capability,” stated Bob Carter, Actifio VP of Federal Operations.

C5ISR, known as the Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Summit, is expected to attract over 1,000 leading national defense professionals and subject matter experts. This year’s agenda includes an exhibit hall, hack-a-thon, networking sessions and many notable keynote and panel discussions.
