Windows To Go PC on a Stick™ Device Honored in Peripherals Category
OAKDALE, MN – Dec. 7, 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — Imation Corp. (NYSE:IMN), a global data storage and information security company, today announced that The Channel Company’s technology review arm, CRN® Test Center, named its IronKey WorkSpace W200 a 2015 Product of the Year. Recognized companies represent best-in-breed technological innovation backed by a supportive channel partner program. The Windows To Go PC on a Stick device received the award in the Peripherals category.
Throughout the year, CRN provides in-depth coverage of an extensive array of products across a wide range of categories. CRN’s annual Product of the Year awards are selected by editors from among that pool. This year’s highlighted award categories include Android devices, client software, components, data center, desktops, enterprise storage, Internet of Things, mobile, office equipment, PC sticks, peripherals, printers, rugged, security, SMB networking and SMB storage. Products are recognized for a number of factors, including quality, uniqueness of features, ease of setup and use, and ability to increase worker productivity and reduce cost and complexity for solution providers, IT departments and end users.
The Microsoft-certified IronKey Workspace W200 device was selected for its ability to provide the mobile workforce with an easy to use, secure and affordable Windows To Go mobile workstation. The device allows administrators to deliver a fully IT-controlled, managed corporate Windows 10 or 8.1 desktop image on a secure USB flash drive, giving workers the ability to run all applications from the USB device or safely access Office 365, Citrix, VPN or other SaaS clients. The W200 device supports Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programs, providing savings of up to 95 percent compared to the cost of an individual laptop deployment. Additional use cases include outfitting contractors and mobile employees, securing remote endpoints, and testing and evaluating select deployments of Windows 10.
“Enterprises want to give mobile workers the power to access corporate data anytime from anywhere, yet they know they must focus on what really matters — data security. IronKey’s Windows To Go devices do just that, with features ranging from full disk encryption to certified military-grade security and smart card login that let enterprises stay in control and mobile workers stay productive,” said Barbara Nelson, executive vice president and general manager of IronKey. “Having the newest member of our Windows To Go family named as a CRN Product of the Year showcases our renowned leadership and expertise in providing secure mobile workspaces that are truly enterprise worthy.”
“Technical excellence in products that have the ability to drive sales and create an immediate and long-lasting impact on a solution provider’s business, backed by a technology vendor that understands and supports the channel, is a winning combination deserving recognition,” said Robert Faletra, CEO of The Channel Company. “We salute our Product of the Year honorees for their determination to create products that provide real value and their desire to support the channel as their go-to-market strategy.”
