BOXBOROUGH, MA – Feb 22, 2016 — /BackupReview.info/ — Egenera, a leading provider of wholesale cloud services to the channel and cloud management software, today announced that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Rick Carbone, Egenera’s vice president of sales, North America, to its prestigious list of 2016 Channel Chiefs. The executives on this annual list represent top leaders in the IT channel who excel at driving growth and revenue in their organizations through channel partners.

Channel Chief honorees are selected by CRN’s editorial staff on the basis of their professional achievements, standing in the industry, dedication to the channel partner community and strategies for driving future growth and innovation. Each of the 2016 Channel Chiefs has demonstrated loyalty and ongoing support for the IT channel by consistently promoting, defending and executing outstanding channel partner programs.

Egenera’s Xterity Cloud Services deliver a full range of wholesale cloud service offerings, including dedicated compute, private, public, bare metal and cloud suite software. In addition, Egenera’s channel partners can offer their clients Xterity business continuity services such as Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) and Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS). With Xterity, technology service providers can quickly enter the cloud services market with no upfront capital or ongoing maintenance or warranty costs. Unlike reselling the large public cloud services, Xterity delivers the margins and dedicated technical support needed to develop a profitable cloud services business.

“With Xterity, our partners can deliver cloud services and enjoy high margin, brandable solutions that help them retain existing customers and gain new ones,” said Pete Manca, president and CEO of Egenera. “Rick and his team have done a phenomenal job at developing the channel for Xterity and at working closely with our channel partners to ensure that they have the tools and programs they need to be successful.”

Carbone served as Egenera’s vice president of U.S. sales from 2006 to 2009 and returned to the company in 2014 when the organization decided to roll out Xterity worldwide. Carbone has over thirty years of technology sales leadership experience and currently leads Egenera’s North American sales operations. Prior to Egenera, Carbone served as vice president, sales for Unisys’ Northeast Region. During his tenure at Unisys, Carbone held key leadership positions in sales, sales operations, marketing, product management and channel development. Carbone holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science from Kean University and has participated in several executive management forums at Columbia University and The Wharton School of Business.

“We are honored to present the 2016 lineup of CRN Channel Chiefs, comprised of outstanding executives who move our entire industry forward by cultivating exemplary partner programs and executing cutting-edge business strategy,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company. “They represent an extraordinary group of individuals who lead by example and serve as both invaluable advocates and innovators of the IT channel. We applaud their incredible strides and look forward to following their accomplishments in the coming year.”
