Agreement Solidifies eFolder’s Position as a Third-party Provider of Cloud Services for StorageCraft ShadowProtect Deployments

ATLANTA, GA – April 25, 2016 — /BackupReview.info/ — eFolder, a leading supplier of business continuity services for the IT channel, and StorageCraft®, an award-winning provider of backup and disaster recovery software and cloud services, today announced the renewal of a software licensing agreement. The new agreement enables eFolder to deliver a next-generation backup and disaster recovery cloud service jointly powered by StorageCraft software and eFolder cloud technologies. In addition, the new contract preserves eFolder’s distribution rights to bundle local StorageCraft ShadowProtect® software licenses and eFolder cloud services to existing eFolder MSP partners with active ShadowProtect licenses, while supplying eFolder with the ability to run and integrate with StorageCraft ImageManager™, VirtualBoot™, and HeadStart Restore® in the eFolder cloud.

Under this new arrangement, eFolder will launch a next-generation cloud-only service, eFolder BDR for ShadowProtect, which will be generally available to existing and new eFolder partners on June 1, 2016. The new and improved eFolder BDR for ShadowProtect service will be a cloud-only offering and can be attached to any existing or future ShadowProtect deployment. After June 1, 2016, eFolder will no longer distribute local ShadowProtect licenses to new MSPs that partner with eFolder, instead allowing MSPs to source their own ShadowProtect licenses and use them in conjunction with eFolder cloud services.

The new and improved eFolder BDR for ShadowProtect service will include bandwidth efficient replication of ShadowProtect data to the eFolder Cloud, massive amounts of included cloud storage per protected server, differential retention policies for local and cloud backups, and fast cloud-based recovery and virtualization in the eFolder Continuity Cloud. The next-generation cloud service reduces bandwidth requirements by nearly half, increasing transmission speed through increased parallelism, while still delivering the same levels of data retention and security. The service will include 2 TB of cloud backup per protected server, a month to month licensing model, and will be competitively priced on a wholesale, per-server basis for MSPs. New eFolder partners will be able to source local ShadowProtect software licenses through StorageCraft or its authorized distributors and attach the new eFolder BDR for ShadowProtect cloud service to deliver end-to-end business continuity services to end-user clients.

“We are pleased to renew our longstanding licensing partnership with StorageCraft,” says Kevin Hoffman, chief executive officer at eFolder. “Over the past five years, both companies have successfully grown by partnering to meet the needs for end-to-end business continuity of MSPs and their clients. With this new long-term licensing agreement, MSP partners can now source the best-of-breed backup and disaster recovery software from StorageCraft’s distribution channel and a powerful next-generation BDR for ShadowProtect cloud service directly from eFolder.”

“Partnerships are a critical part of StorageCraft’s strategy for serving the diverse partners and customers in our ecosystem,” says Matt Medeiros, chairman and chief executive officer at StorageCraft. “We are excited about this important licensing agreement with eFolder so that we may continue to jointly serve the needs of the thriving MSP community.”

Availability
The next-generation of eFolder BDR for ShadowProtect will be available to new and existing partners worldwide on June 1, 2016.
