Leader in Virtualization backup software for Microsoft and VMware further expands its European operations

RALEIGH, NC – May 17, 2016 — /BackupReview.info/ — Altaro, a pioneer in virtualization backup solutions for Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware, today announced its plans to further expand its business across Europe. The European commercial team will be headed up by Colin Wright, who has been appointed as the company’s Vice President of EMEA Sales. Colin will be responsible for executing Altaro’s go-to-market strategy in EMEA, growing the company’s reseller partners across the region and increasing sales of Altaro utilizing a strong Channel driven model.

“With a significant portion of our 30,000 customers from the UK, Germany, Austria and other European countries, we felt that the time was right to invest in our European operations by appointing a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record of commercial success within Europe.” commented Co-founder and VP of WW Sales & Marketing Stephen Chetcuti Bonavita.

Colin has more than 20 years’ experience working in the technology sector, with a strong track record for growing a number of virtualization and cloud companies. He has created successful EMEA sales operations for a number of software companies, including Veeam, Vizioncore, Scriptlogic and Embotics. Prior to that, Colin held a number of sales management roles at Citrix. More recently, Colin was Business Unit Director (Virtualisation, VDI, Cloud) at MTI Europe, Head of Desktop Virtualisation Sales at 2e2 and Senior Channel Director at Atlantis Computing Inc.

“I’m very excited to be heading up Altaro’s Sales business in EMEA. There has been unparalleled growth in the virtualization market in recent years, but complexity has crept in which is where Altaro’s ability to provide easy to use solutions with a Channel centric approach will pay dividends. This will be especially important for those organizations looking towards securing their virtual estates with cost effective technology which is agnostic of the underlying hypervisor,” said Colin Wright. “Altaro’s back up offering is the only product on the market that provides all the features an organization needs with the reduction of inherent complexity providing an instant return on investment for SMBs. Altaro’s offering provides choice to the customer, affordability at an unparalleled level with a time to value that betters all solutions currently on the market.”

“I strongly believe that resellers and distributors cannot afford to miss out on Altaro’s technology. All companies have a choice of what to use, with Altaro’s technology that brings a choice to customers and a comprehensive easy to use affordable offering to end user organizations. Our model will be Channel driven in a way not seen before; respecting the choice companies have and delivering the model that presents them with an environment of unique time to value, vendor commitment and joint engagements designed to reward partners and customers alike” added Colin Wright.
