New Client Initiated Backup Feature Creates Further Business Options For MSPs.

Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland – June 1, 2016 — /BackupReview.info/ — Further extending its high-end enterprise features, Bacula Systems today unveiled Bacula Enterprise Edition 8.6, with Client Initiated Backup as one of its key new features. Managed Service Providers and other hosting facilities are increasingly adopting the Bacula Enterprise backup and data recovery solution, driven largely by the software’s scalability, performance and unique pricing model that means data centers are not penalized for their data volume.

Using either a GUI (BWeb Management Suite™) or a command line interface, Bacula Enterprise Editions’ Client Initiated Backup means System Administrators can now manage complex network configurations using any of the following:

  • Bacula Director centralized model
  • Bacula Director and Storage Daemon centralized model
  • Client Initiated Backup (client centralized model)

“MSPs often look for ways to offer their customers a backup tool that is integrated into their services and accessed by their customers via an easy-to-use GUI. For the end customers of MSP’s, this means having fast, direct control over backup and restore of their own data. It is a simply delivered, value added service that MSP’s will want to include in their portfolios” said Frank Barker, CEO at Bacula Systems.

Bacula Enterprise Edition version 8.6’s additional new features deliver the ability to run multiple concurrent VSS jobs (snapshots) together with new BWeb Management Suite capabilities. It also brings rapid selection of multiple files and directories in VMware for performing Single File Restore.
