TOKYO, JAPAN – March 17, 2017 — /BackupReview.info/ — NetJapan, publisher of disk imaging backup, system disaster recovery, and virtualization software, releases ActiveImage Protector 2016 R2 for Hyper-V Enterprise with support for Windows Server 2016, enhanced functionality, and new features.

ActiveImage Protector for Hyper-V is a host-based backup solution. Backups are performed on the physical host, and require no software agents installed on guest machines. Host-based backups created with Inline Data Deduplication Compression (IDDC) improve compression ratios by effectively eliminating redundant data across the host’s virtual machines.

Improved Inline Data Deduplication Compression reduces storage resource usage up to 70%, supports volumes larger than 8 terabytes, and decreases restore and resume times by as much as 50% over previous versions. NetJapan’s ReZoom it!™ technology can easily resume single or multiple virtual machines from a specific checkpoint to the original or an alternate host.

ImageCenter LE uses NetJapan’s BackOff™ technology to schedule replication and consolidation tasks to local or off-site, high capacity storage resources, improving local system performance by offloading system and storage resource consumption to alternate or dedicated systems.

Additional Features and Updates:

  • Enhanced network client management console
  • Expanded GPT and uEFI bare metal system recovery support
  • ActiveImage Protector Boot Environment for Hyper-V host recovery
  • Create custom boot media for optical and flash devices
