IDrive Online Backup Launches ‘IDrive People’ – Facial Recognition for Backed Up Photos

LOS ANGELES, CA – September 21, 2018 — /BackupReview.info/ — IDrive Online Backup has launched IDrive People, a new facial recognition feature to assist users with organizing their backed up photos.

Being the first backup company to utilize AI for facial recognition, IDrive now uses this function to identify faces from users’ backed up photos, and uses each face to organize the photos into groups by name, making it easy to locate certain photos as needed.

The “People” section in the IDrive mobile application provides a thumbnail view of all the face groups created by the user, letting users simply tap a thumbnail to view all the photos linked to that faceprint.

With this new feature, users now have the ability to search and share photos directly from the People section in the app. To search for photos, simply enter the name of the individual in the search field. Users can also search for two names at a time to locate photos that include the two corresponding faces.

The file formats supported for facial recognition are JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, BMP and NEF.

IDrive People is available only on IDrive Mobile Backup for iOS and Android.
