RSI enhances financial data management, protection and compliance with Commvault solution expansion —

Tinton Falls, N.J. and Nashville, Tenn. – Oct. 9, 2018 — /BackupReview.info/ — Rural Servicios Informáticos (RSI), part of the Caja Rural Group, today announced that it has implemented Commvault HyperScale™ software as part of ongoing efforts to manage the complete lifecycle of its varied, business critical, data assets. As part of a long-term strategic decision, the company implemented a scale-out approach to build an advanced, cloud-ready environment, capable of protecting and managing both on-premises and in cloud data requirements to deliver maximum protection and availability to their customers. The announcement was made today in Nashville at Commvault GO 2018, the company’s annual customer conference.

RSI is the Caja Rural Group company that is responsible for defining and implementing the overall group’s strategy in all matters concerning the automated processing and availability of the critical, financial data of the rural savings banks.  RSI plays a key role in the bank technology sector in Spain, supporting more than 3,500 offices, 3,500 ATM machines, more than 3 million cards, 70,000 shops, 80,000 point of sale terminals and, in all, more than seven million customers.

RSI initially selected Commvault in 2014 to deploy a backup environment that would safeguard and manage customer data by supporting more than 70 of the company’s banks in Spain with a shared service center for all data management requirements.  Now, after Commvault’s successful support of the first ever complete application outsourcing project for the organization, RSI have further bolstered their infrastructure with the implementation of Commvault’s HyperScale scale-out technology.

Commvault HyperScale Technology is one of Commvault’s four product offerings as an add-on for Commvault Complete™ Backup & Recovery that delivers an on-premises, cloud-like infrastructure to support scale-out secondary storage. This purchase decision by RSI was based on the increased capability for recovery, availability, scalability and data reliant application enablement that Commvault HyperScale delivers.

“Data management and protection, as well as accessibility and regulatory compliance is essential for an organization like ours,” says Marian Moro, Head of Storage, RSI. “Commvault’s solutions provide us with the best functionality/cost ratio, and also gives us centralized support, meaning we can eliminate the need for multiple different technologies and consolidate on the best solution available.”

By combining compute and storage onto a single platform, RSI are able to collapse their infrastructure onto a single data protection platform for easier management, reduced hardware costs and greater insight into their data across the organization. This also allows greater flexibility to scale for RSI, providing greater choices, when looking to gain business efficiencies and drive competitive advantage from their data in the future.

“RSI is a leader in its sector, and it continues to demonstrate this position through its ability to innovate with technology and offer great customer service,” says Eulalia Flo, Country Manager for Commvault Iberia. “We are very proud to be able to support RSI in its journey toward a more efficient, flexible and scalable data environment, and we will always be there to offer RSI guidance in pursuit of its technology and business goals.”
