Builds on Proven Success With Key Worldwide Customers, Including Comcast, Rackspace, SMX and Open-Xchange

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – April 3, 2019 — /BackupReview.info/ — Scality™, the acknowledged leader for enabling distributed file and object storage and multi-cloud data control, today announced the official launch of the company’s new Cloud Service Provider (CSP) solutions group, created specifically to solve the most complex mission-critical cloud storage problems for the service providers on which the world relies.

The new unit is led by industry veteran, Erik Julin, who has been focused on the Service Provider Industry since working with AOL® in 1996. Julin knows that what matters most to SP’s is real-world operational stability, reliability and service continuity to their customers—their building blocks to success. The establishment of this business unit proves-out Scality’s commitment to bring the best solution to the most significant and challenging problems faced by industry leaders.

Designed to build on the success of the company’s acclaimed RING™ object storage solution as well as its Zenko™ multi-cloud controller, CSP’s mission is to support multi-petabyte storage across the entirety of a company’s cloud services businesses. Having recently been awarded the first and second highest scores in each of the five use cases in the annual Gartner® Critical Capabilities for Object Storage report for 2019, Scality’s solutions create a platform on which CSPs build businesses.

Scality has a “who’s who” list of customers in the CSP space, including the company’s first (and ever-growing) customer in 2009, Telenet™ (Mechelen, Belgium), as well as Comcast® (Philadelphia), Rackspace® (Windcrest, TX), SMX™ (Auckland, New Zealand) and Open-Xchange™ (Nuremberg, Germany), all of which rely on Scality’s always-on availability to power their customer-critical services.

Rackspace has publicly commented that “We had to separate our processing scaling from our storage scaling. We needed an SDS provider with performance, operability and survivability – a solution that could scale to 10s of petabytes.” Thanks to Scality, Rackspace has now saved more than $12M in attendant costs.

“SMX has been a proud Scality customer for years, and we are very excited to be one of their marquee customers in the APAC region for their CSP business unit,” said Ian McDonald, CEO of SMX. “Scality RING is an integral component powering our email platform for millions of users, and our 99.999% uptime is a critical necessity for them and for us – Scality delivers where it counts most.”

“Customers in this space require 24/7/365 access for their millions of customers’ hundreds of billions of objects in order to meet their SLAs. We get them there – Scality is more than a vendor for them; we are a true partner in their businesses,” said Erik Julin, VP, Cloud Service Providers at Scality.

“In the Scality CSP business unit, we have built a vertically-focused global solution team to further focus our success in the very specific use-cases relevant to large cloud-scale service providers. Our team leverages key ISV, OEM and channel partners to enhance value-added solutions that help our clients grow and reduce costs in so many new ways. As our typical CSP customers serve client bases of more than one million users —many over 10 million— our focus on excellence is business-critical to the biggest players in the industry.”
