Company continues to invest in local partner ecosystem and source top talent

Sydney, Australia – May 17, 2019 — /BackupReview.info/ — Datto, Inc., the leading global provider of IT solutions delivered through Managed Service Providers (MSPs), has doubled down on its commitment to the rapidly growing MSP market in Australia and New Zealand with a new Sydney office. This investment will enable Datto and its partners to continue to grow and address the IT needs of small and medium businesses (SMBs) in the region.

Founded in 2007, Datto is a global leader in business continuity and disaster recovery, business management, and networking solutions. Datto’s local presence has grown exponentially since its Australian office was established in 2015. What started out as one employee managing the region has grown to more than 60 staff serving more than 1,200 MSP partners in Australia and New Zealand. The new office can accommodate a staff of up to 130 team members.

“Technology is being introduced at record speeds, and the ability to leverage these technologies while protecting IT infrastructure and intellectual property is playing a significant role in how businesses of all sizes operate today,” said Datto APAC Director of Sales James Bergl. “The critical need to combat cybercrime, such as ransomware and phishing attacks, as well as address continued cloud service outages, has seen a rapid rise in SMBs relying on the specialist expertise of managed service providers for business continuity.”

“Datto is committed to developing the local IT channel and building the right team of professionals to support it. We have ambitious plans to double in size in the coming years and our new office provides a modern workspace and surroundings to attract and retain the best talent from an ultra-competitive talent pool,” Bergl said.

MSPs can expect to see the market for managed services grow, with a recent research report forecasting that Australian IT services revenue will reach approximately AU $23 million in 2023, up from an estimated AU $19 million in 2018.(1)

“As small businesses recognise the importance of maintaining the integrity of their IT infrastructure, IT providers and the Australian managed services market continues to grow,” said Daniel Williams, CEO & Director of PowerNET IT Solutions, an MSP in Melbourne, Australia. “Datto has been a true partner in helping IT providers like Powernet provide valuable and mission-critical services to small businesses across Australia.”

Datto’s Sydney office on Level 25, 161 Sussex Street spans a combined 1,500 square metres of One Wharf Lane. Datto makes its new home in the building alongside other technology companies, including Spotify.
