Reporting directly to Kamal Brar, Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan, Ishii will be responsible for expanding the Japanese market.

“Ishii’s vast experience in creating and scaling a channel ecosystem, coupled with his deep knowledge of the enterprise, will significantly accelerate the time to value for customers and partners in enabling their cloud deployments,” said Brar.

Rubrik is redefining the $48 billion cloud data management market, which continues to grow in Japan as more and more customers decide to maximize their investments with cloud native platforms. Rubrik’s technology, paired with Ishii’s leadership, will be key to successful expansion in Japan.

Ishii’s most recent role was Regional Vice President at Tanium LLC, where he led the partner and enterprise business and contributed to the overall growth of Tanium in Japan. He also formerly served as Executive Officer and General Manager at VMware, where he oversaw business expansion in the commercial segment, contributing to company and partner success in Japan.

Rubrik has made tremendous progress in Asia this year, extending its leadership and investment across international enterprise markets. Between the establishment of an APAC headquarters in Singapore and the appointment of Koichi Ishii as Japan Country Manager, Rubrik has taken huge strides to build its network in Asia, increasing sales and resources in key markets.
