AWS Backup Adds Support for Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) Instance Backup

Additionally, AWS Backup will enable customers to restore an EC2 instance with the same configuration as the original, greatly simplifying the recovery process. You can restore from the AWS Backup console, SDK, or CLI, all at the EC2 instance level.

AWS Backup offers a centralized, fully-managed, policy-based service to back up data across AWS services. With AWS Backup, you can centrally configure backup policies and monitor backup activity for AWS resources, including Amazon EBS volumes, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) databases, Amazon DynamoDB tables, Amazon Elastic File System(EFS), Amazon EC2 instances and AWS Storage Gateway volumes.
