SEATTLE, WA – January 13, 2020 — /BackupReview.info/ — AWS Backup now supports cross-region backup, enabling AWS customers to copy backups across multiple services to different regions. Cross-region backup offers a centralized solution to store a copy of backup data more than a region away from production data, helping you to more easily meet business continuity, disaster recovery, and compliance requirements.

Customers will be able to define cross-region copies as part of their scheduled backup plan, or perform a manual, on-demand copy using a single console. With AWS Backup, you can perform cross-region backups for Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) volumes, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) databases, Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) instances, and Amazon Storage Gateway (SGW) workloads. You can also recover from the backups in the new region, reducing the risk of downtime and ensuring disaster recovery and business continuity requirements are met.

For step-by-step guidance on how to define a copy, please see the AWS Backup documentation here – https://docs.aws.amazon.com/aws-backup/?id=docs_gateway

AWS Backup offers a centralized, fully-managed, policy-based service to back up data across AWS services. With AWS Backup, you can centrally configure backup scheduling, set retention polices and monitor backup activity for AWS resources, including Amazon EBS volumes, Amazon RDS databases, Amazon DynamoDB tables, Amazon EFS file systems, Amazon EC2 instances and AWS Storage Gateway volumes.

For more information on where AWS Backup is available, see the AWS region table. To learn more about AWS Backup, please see our product page and documentation.
