SUNNYVALE, CA – February 24, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — Druva, developer of the #1-rated inSync endpoint data protection and governance platform, announced today that VP of Business Development Steve McChesney has been named one of CRN’s 2014 Channel Chiefs. The honor marked McChesney’s third appearance on the annual list of the most powerful IT channel leaders.

The list recognizes executives responsible for driving channel sales and growth within their organization, while evangelizing the channel’s importance throughout the IT industry. CRN Channel Chiefs were selected by the CRN editorial team based on channel experience, program innovations, channel-driven revenue, and public support for the importance of IT channel sales.

McChesney has spent the last 15 years focused on technology sales and business development, including eight years in channel management and sales at F5 Networks before joining Druva last year to help the company transition from direct to indirect sales. The company is targeting storage, security and mobile device management (MDM) resellers as well as strategic alliance partners who can leverage the Druva platform to secure and control corporate data distributed across hundreds or thousands of PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Since McChesney’s arrival, Druva has launched a new channel program with aggressive partner margins, built a dedicated channel team, established a channel training methodology, and made other investments to support partner needs. These initiatives helped fuel a 40% growth in Druva’s partner base in 2013.

“Selling our inSync platform through the channel will not only accelerate our market penetration, but also give our partners the industry’s only unified solution for backing up, remotely accessing, sharing and governing the many zettabytes of data now distributed across an exploding number of company-owned and BYOD endpoints,” said Jaspreet Singh, Druva founder and CEO. “Steve’s knowledge of the channel – validated by this CRN Channel Chief recognition – is a strong asset as we shift to an indirect sales model and help our partners grow their bottom line.”

“We are pleased to highlight the many executives throughout the industry who work tirelessly to advance the standing of the channel community within their organizations. The CRN Channel Chief honorees lead, inspire and engage peers and serve as valuable advocates to help ensure the health and longevity of the channel within the IT industry. We applaud their efforts and look forward to their continued success,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company.

The 2014 Channel Chiefs list is featured in the February/March issue of CRN, and online at www.CRN.com.
