LOS ANGELES, CA – June 12, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — IDrive Inc., leading online backup and cloud storage provider, today announced IDrive Rewind as part of its service offering. Rewind is geared toward users who want to protect their data from possible future Crypto Virus attacks, as well as those who have previously been affected by ransomware – in which data is encrypted by a third party and held for ransom.

In the past year, rises in Crypto Viruses have affected hundreds of thousands of users. The biggest one being CryptoLocker, but many other ransomware trojans and malware exist. “We developed Rewind in response to our own users’ requests for a service that would assist them in restoring data after many were affected by Crypto Viruses earlier this year,” says Raghu Kulkarni, CEO of IDrive.

Rewind allows users to go into their backup history and restore earlier versions of files or folders in bulk rather than restoring files one by one, which is very time consuming. Even if the latest file is corrupt, IDrive enables users to restore an earlier file version. Rewind offers a better way to access data if affected by a Crypto Virus as it provides folder versioning for up to three previous folder versions.

This feature is part of IDrive’s current service offering with no additional cost to utilize the functionality. Rewind is currently available to IDrive customers with active accounts. IDrive offers several account options with competitive pricing plans.
