App Enables Admins to Manage Salesforce Backup and Restore Activity from Anywhere; Beta Program Now Open

LONDON, UK – June 17, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — Spanning Cloud Apps, the leading provider of data backup and recovery for cloud applications, today announced Spanning Backup for Salesforce1 Mobile, the first mobile app for Salesforce administrators to manage and monitor their automated backups and restore activities within Salesforce. The app is available through a private beta program and is debuting at the Cloud World Forum conference in London this week with a full release expected in early Q3 2014.

Spanning Backup for Salesforce1 Mobile is a companion app for Spanning’s successful backup and recovery product delivered within the Salesforce interface which provides automated, daily backups and the ability to restore all of a customer’s Salesforce data (including Leads, Contacts, Accounts, attachments and metadata) to its original state from any point in time.

The new product offering for the Salesforce1 Mobile app represents Spanning’s commitment to being the preferred provider of backup and recovery for salesforce.com customers by providing easy-to-use, reliable in-app solutions for protecting Salesforce users from data loss on-the-go or in the office.

Spanning Backup for Salesforce1 Mobile allows Salesforce administrators to:

  • Monitor the status of backups and to be notified of any errors or issues in the status dashboard;
  • Track all activities including backups, restores and exports; and,
  • Receive proactive updates for key backup and recovery activities in the Salesforce Chatter Mobile newsfeed.

“Spanning Backup for Salesforce1 Mobile is the latest example of how our products are fully integrated with Salesforce using their native technologies,” said Jeff Erramouspe, CEO of Spanning Cloud Apps. “We know Salesforce admins prefer to work within the environments provided by Salesforce, and the Salesforce1 mobile platform enables us to use our application-centric development approach and deliver a great mobile experience. We’re looking forward to working closely with our customers through this beta program to deliver yet another great product for Salesforce users.”

“As office walls and the 9-to-5 workday continue to evaporate, sales professionals and the IT departments that oversee their essential tools must absolutely have the ability to limit workflow interruptions that are caused by data loss from anywhere in order for their organizations to remain productive and competitive,” said Holger Mueller, Vice President and Principal Analyst at Constellation Research. “The workforce has evolved to the point where data loss fixes that take hours or even days are unacceptable. Innovation in the cloud application backup and recovery market will enable forward-thinking organizations to be able to course-correct any missteps, immediately minimizing risk and maximizing performance.”

Talking Salesforce at Cloud World Forum
Jeff Erramouspe, CEO and president of Spanning, will present in the Salesforce Theater at the Cloud World Forum on June 17th at 4:00 pm and again on June 18th at 2:10 pm.
