SAN JOSE, CA – August 18, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — Skyera Inc., the leader in highest density, all-flash arrays (AFA) that maximize data center efficiency, today announced that current investors from its previous $51.6 million funding round have provided additional capital to the company as it prepares to scale its sales and manufacturing cycles to meet increased demand. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Additionally, in order to fully capitalize on the company’s opportunities, Skyera has promoted Frankie Roohparvar to the CEO. Roohparvar, veteran of more than 30 years in the flash and non-volatile memory industries, assumes the leadership role of the company. Dr. Radoslav Danilak, co-founder of Skyera, becomes CTO of the company.

Before joining Skyera in 2012, Roohparvar served in various senior engineering and executive positions in Flash memory and NAND development at Micron Technology, ultimately responsible for design centers in California, Colorado, Japan, Italy and China for the $10 billion company. Prior to Micron, Roohparvar was one of the founders of Micron Quantum Devices, an early provider of NOR Flash memory that was acquired by Micron. He started his career in non-volatile memory at Xicor where he served as Design Engineering Manager. He holds MBAs from the Columbia Business School and the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a MS in Electrical Engineering at Santa Clara University and a BS in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University. Roohparvar currently holds 495 U.S. patents.

“The additional funding raised from our existing strategic investors reinforces the company’s leadership in AFA technology, including our approach to key storage selection criteria of size, weight, power, performance, plug-n-play and price (SWaP4),” said Roohparvar. “While that approach remains unchanged, we have decided to leverage this investment to realign our executive team to better capitalize on the product vision that Rado brings to our team. His move to CTO allows him to spend time contributing his technical genius to furthering the design, development and integration of Skyera’s system-wide approach to solid-state storage. We believe that these changes and the additional investment positions us for success in both the near and long terms.”
