LONDON, UK – September 8, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — Databarracks, an infrastructure and disaster recovery provider, is a finalist in the Services Company of the Year category in the 2014 UK IT Awards.

The awards, being presented on Wednesday 12 November at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London, are a celebration of outstanding performance throughout the UK IT industry.

Spanning over 25 categories, the UK IT Industry Awards focus on the contribution of individuals, projects, organisations and technologies that have excelled in the use, development and deployment of IT in the past 12 months.

Peter Groucutt, MD of Databarracks, stated: “We have moved with our customers. Ten years ago, we started out by providing one of the first true online backup services in the UK. Since then, we have evolved with our customers to also offer innovative disaster recovery and infrastructure services.

“For a long time, there has been a misconception that cloud services like disaster recovery are only affordable to enterprise firms. At Databarracks we’ve spent the past decade challenging this view by providing UK SMEs with enterprise-class backup and disaster recovery at a price point, which is affordable for their business objectives. Being a finalist in this award is recognition of this dedication.”

Adam Thilthorpe, Director for Professionalism at the Institute, says: “As the Chartered Institute for IT I’d like to congratulate this year’s finalists. They showcase not only the innovation and the professionalism of those working in IT, but also demonstrate the importance of IT in delivering business and social benefit.”

Stuart Sumner, Editor of Computing adds: “I would like to congratulate the finalists. The UK IT Industry Awards are rigorously judged and to be announced as a finalist is a great achievement.”
