Box powers cloud collaboration for innovative new customers Neiman Marcus, Wynn Resorts and Benefit Cosmetics

LOS ALTOS, CA – January 29, 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — Box today announced it has brought on Josh Chernoff, former leader of Bain & Company’s Americas Retail practice, to serve as the managing director of the company’s retail, consumer packaged goods and hospitality practice. In this role, Chernoff will help Box deepen its expertise in the retail, CPG and hospitality industries and support the growing number of customers on its platform. New retail and CPG customers Neiman Marcus, Benefit Cosmetics and Del Monte Foods, along with new hospitality customers Wynn Resorts Limited and Hostmark Hospitality Group, are using Box as their primary platform for managing and collaborating on content.

“Retail, CPG and Hospitality are fast growing verticals at Box, and it’s clear that there’s a remarkable opportunity to improve the way information is captured, managed and shared internally within organizations, as well as between vendors, supply chain partners and with their customers,” said Karen Appleton, senior vice president of Industry Alliances at Box. “Josh is a proven leader and industry veteran whose years of experience working at the intersection of technology and retail will be instrumental in enabling us to expand our capabilities in this space.”

“Consumer-oriented companies have an incredible opportunity to redefine their relationships with consumers and trading partners, building off the massive technological transformation we are currently undergoing,” said Josh Chernoff. “As technology shifts power and control to consumers and workers, companies need to find new ways to add value and foster collaboration across company boundaries. Box is in a unique position to address this challenge and define what success looks like in this space.”

New Leadership
Chernoff is a long-time retail industry veteran with more than twenty years of experience advising retailers and their suppliers. Most recently, Chernoff was a partner in Bain & Company’s Chicago office and a leader in the firm’s Retail practice from 2009 through 2013. He joined Bain after 12 years at A.T. Kearney, where he was the global practice leader for Retail and Consumer Industries. Chernoff began his career at Macy’s, where he worked in store management and as a buyer.

Chernoff has led a broad range of projects for clients in North America, Europe and Asia. His client work has included large-scale transformations for some of the largest national department stores, big box and specialty retailers, integrating a number of disciplines to help his clients achieve new levels of profitability and competitiveness.

Chernoff earned an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, where he was an Austin Scholar. He also received a BA from Yale University.

Retail Momentum
Since announcing Box for Retail at the company’s user conference, BoxWorks, in September 2014, Box has experienced continued momentum in the retail vertical. New retail customers include Benefit Cosmetics, Neiman Marcus, American Apparel and Oxford Industries. These new customers join hundreds of other innovative organizations — such as Fossil, Barneys New York, Sephora, Aeropostale, Arbonne, Birkenstock and Safeway — in using the Box platform to address key industry challenges like vendor collaboration, digital asset management and retail store enablement.

“Cloud and mobile technologies are becoming an increasingly important part of the retail business, allowing for streamlined operations and improved collaboration with a growing network of global partners,” said Michael Kingston, senior vice president & chief information officer, Neiman Marcus Group. “By leveraging Box for store planning and development and critical partnerships, we are able to power a better retail experience for our customers.”
