Industry Visionary Brings Sales Leadership, Strategy and Operational Expertise as Connected Data Sets the Standard for a New Generation of File, Sync and Share Private Cloud Solutions

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – June 23, 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — Connected Data® announced the appointment of Mike Munoz to its Board of Directors. The storage-industry veteran will join the company’s board to provide strategic business development and go-to-market advice to the Connected Data leadership team as the company sets the standard for a new generation of secure file, sync and share private cloud solutions.

Mike Munoz is a 25-year Silicon Valley veteran who has built and led sales teams for some of the most accomplished technology companies in the world. Most recently, he was Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Nimble Storage where he built the sales team from the ground up attributing to a successful IPO. He has also worked as regional Vice President of Sales for Data Domain where he led the company’s most prosperous sales division contributing to an IPO in 2008 as well as a $2 billion acquisition by EMC in 2009. His experience also includes sales leadership positions at Z-Force, BlueArc, and NetApp. Mike’s success and leadership in building successful global sales from startup to IPO brings valuable insight, direction and expertise as Connected Data challenges the status quo by architecting private cloud storage solutions that deliver the performance, protection and privacy enterprises require – while minimizing compliance risk.

“I’m excited to be joining the Connected Data Board of Directors during such a pivotal time in its growth,” said Mike Munoz. “With its unique Transporter family of private cloud business solutions, Connected Data is distinctly positioned for rapid growth in a very hot market and I look forward to being an integral part of the company’s continued success.”

ESG identifies that file sharing for collaboration and improved productivity has become an expected part of the user experience in today’s corporate environments. It also outlines that organizations are struggling to maintain control of sensitive corporate data in an age of increasing mobility and widespread proliferation of cloud services. These are the challenges directly addressed by Transporter, the world’s first private cloud appliance. Designed for business, Transporter solutions allow corporate IT to leverage their existing infrastructure to build cloud services that maintain complete control over where data is stored and how it is shared, while providing Dropbox like simplicity for its users.

Connected Data’s Transporter for Business family of private cloud storage solutions overcome the privacy and security concerns associated with public cloud-based offerings. Transporter appliances keep data safe and secure within the company’s own firewall while eliminating the revolving expense of cloud subscription fees. The resulting solution delivers enterprise performance with redundancy and seamless failover for optimal reliability and protection.

“We’re pleased to have Mike join our board as we address the demand for private cloud file storage appliances that provide the privacy, security and enterprise performance capabilities that public cloud solutions just can’t deliver,” said Geoff Barrall, CEO, Connected Data. “Mike’s proven track record in building successful global sales in emerging markets from startup to IPO will clearly benefit Connected Data as we continue to execute on our growth strategy.”
