New chief security officer and senior vice president of customer success will accelerate Code42’s expansion in the enterprise data protection and security market

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – December 01, 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — Code42, the leader in endpoint data protection and security for the enterprise, today announced that it has added two senior executives to its leadership team. Rick Orloff, former chief information security officer at eBay, will serve as Code42’s chief security officer, and Karen Pisha, former senior vice president of customer success at Adaptive Insights, will serve as Code42’s new senior vice president of customer success.

“Security and customer success are two guiding principles for Code42, which is why we are excited to have Karen and Rick join our team,” said Joe Payne, president and CEO at Code42. “They are both the best in the world at what they do; their leadership will strengthen our customer-first approach, improve our product’s data security capabilities and build on our position as one of the most secure cloud backup solutions on the market.”

In his role as chief security officer at Code42, Orloff is responsible for building Code42’s data security capabilities to help customers better protect enterprise data from external and internal threats.

“Faced with a constant barrage of cyberattacks, enterprise CISOs know that the best defense is a good offense,” Orloff said. “That’s why I joined Code42—the company’s secure cloud backup provides the foundation for endpoint data protection and security. Not only must companies protect the traditional layers of security infrastructure, but these days the end-user data archive plays a significant role in detecting attacks and attributing them to the correct source. I’m impressed with Code42’s secure backup offering and where the company is headed to help IT and information security teams defend against data loss.”

Orloff brings to Code42 more than 20 years of deep information security experience. Prior to joining Code42, Orloff was vice president and chief information security officer at eBay. He also previously led and built global security programs at Apple, and directed global security at Lam Research. Orloff is an active member of several advisory boards focused on new and emerging security technology companies.

As senior vice president of customer success, Pisha is tasked with building an organization focused on long-standing customer relationships, driving customer success and improved time to value for Code42’s more than 37,000 business customers, including Lockheed Martin, Grant Thornton, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), HBO and Fossil.

“Code42 has built a community of fanatical, loyal customers,” Pisha said. “I look forward to building on this success and launching initiatives that further drive adoption of data protection and security best practices—enabling customers to discover new ways to leverage backup across the enterprise.”

Throughout her tenured career, Pisha has contributed to building and leading many high-growth companies through successful IPO and acquisition. Prior to joining Code42, Pisha built customer success programs for Adaptive Insights, Oracle and Eloqua. By focusing Eloqua’s teams on product adoption and customer satisfaction, she helped triple revenues over four years and expanded sales to its existing customer base. She also served as global vice president of professional services at SuccessFactors, where she ramped the professional services team and revenues through a successful IPO.

The addition of Pisha and Orloff add to a year of momentum for Code42. The company recently raised $85 million in Series B funding led by JMI Equity and New Enterprise Associates, Inc. (NEA). Code42 received a 2015 Customer Experience Excellence award from Gartner and 1to1 Media, and was named to Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 for the second year in a row. In July, Code42 announced Joe Payne, a proven SaaS executive and previously the chairman and CEO of Eloqua, as president and CEO.
