Available now in North America and Europe, the virtual appliance is sold as a subscription and leverages Barracuda’s award-winning technology to protect both physical and virtual environments. It provides a flexible, scalable backup solution for MSPs that prefer to use their own storage or are looking to reduce their investment in dedicated hardware.

Similar to the physical version of Barracuda Backup – Intronis MSP Edition, which was introduced earlier this year, Barracuda’s virtual appliance option offers a robust feature set including integrated backup, compression, and deduplication capabilities, along with cloud-based centralized management. Because it is a virtual appliance, MSPs can avoid physical hardware management, such as rack space, maintenance, and eventual replacement, and reduce power and cooling costs.

The subscription-based pricing model around the Barracuda virtual appliance simplifies budgeting and planning for channel partners and includes replication to a virtual receiver at a secondary site. Replication to Barracuda Cloud Storage is available as a cost-effective per TB plan that scales easily for growing environments. This makes it easier for MSPs and IT service providers to provide complete data protection and reduce the risk of data loss for customers by having multiple backup copies available.

The virtual version of the Barracuda appliance fits easily into any virtual environment supported by an MSP.
