IBM leverages Actifio’s data management technology to enhance its disaster recovery capabilities for recovery from cyber outages

Waltham, Mass. – August 27, 2018 — /BackupReview.info/ — Actifio, the world’s leading enterprise Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) software provider, today announced the expansion of its partnership with IBM, including the availability of a new cyber resilience capability by integrating closely with IBM Resiliency Orchestration software.

As part of this partnership, the new capability called Cyber Incident Recovery from IBM combines Actifio’s copy data management (CDM) technology with its immutable storage, disaster recovery automation and reporting platforms to help organizations rapidly recover clean and immutable copies of data, restore application services and resume standard business operations quickly during or after disruptive cyber incidents.

As history has shown, it’s not “if” an organization’s data will be breached, but “when”. According to Online Trust Alliance, the number of cyber incidents nearly doubled to 160,000 in 2017 from the previous year, costing the global economy as much as $600 billion.

Cyber Incident Recovery for Data and Cyber Incident Recovery for Platform Configuration are new capabilities included in the 7.3 release of IBM Resiliency Orchestration, the market-leading software to simplify and orchestrate disaster recovery processes and workflows.

“These new cyber recovery capabilities put IBM at the forefront of addressing our clients’ critical challenge of maintaining continuous business operations in the event of cyberattacks and protecting their business reputations,” said Andrea Sayles, General Manager of IBM Business Resiliency Services. “It also demonstrates that IBM continues to lead the way in developing innovative solutions that help our clients more quickly respond to and recover from attacks.”

The integration of Actifio’s CDM technology with IBM Resiliency Orchestration software represents the next phase of Actifio and IBM’s longstanding partnership in business continuity and resiliency services. Organizations in regulated industries like financial services and healthcare will be better equipped to identify and evaluate potential risks of disruptions and recover more quickly from cyberattacks.

Ash Ashutosh, Founder and CEO of Actifio, said, “IBM is the recognized leader in the category of cyber resilience, building on their heritage of helping global companies recover their business-critical applications. Actifio is truly excited to announce solutions that comply with IBM’s Cyber Incident Recovery reference architecture and look forward to adding value to enterprises worldwide.”

This new capability is now available worldwide as IBM DRaaS managed service and standalone software product. For more information on Actifio’s suite of cloud and cybersecurity-focused data solutions, please visit our website.
