Datto CPO Radhesh Menon and Microsoft CTO David Totten zero in on the market landscape and growth potential for MSPs in the current climate

NORWALK, Conn. – September 14, 2020 — /BackupReview.info/ — Datto, Inc., the leading global provider of cloud-based software and technology solutions purpose-built for delivery by managed service providers (MSPs), will be hosting its second virtual MSP Technology Day on September 16.

Building off of the success of the first virtual MSP Technology Day in June, Datto will host its next event dedicated to the tools and technologies that are driving adoption of MSP services through this pandemic. Adding to the excitement of the day, David Totten, CTO of US Partner Ecosystem at Microsoft, will join Radhesh Menon, Chief Product Officer at Datto, for a discussion on why now is a pivotal moment for the MSP industry.

“We are seeing small and medium size businesses more eager to accelerate their digital transformation in the wake of COVID,” said David Totten, CTO, US Partner Ecosystem at Microsoft. “I am looking forward to a discussion with Datto on how MSPs will play a crucial role in providing the skills and capabilities that SMBs need to succeed, grow, and profit from this transformation.”

While Datto’s first MSP Technology Day focused on the future of RMM, this next event will take a closer look at Datto’s continuity solutions for servers, PCs, and SaaS applications. According to Datto’s 2020 Global State of the MSP Report, MSPs said that, on average, 70% of clients’ servers have some kind of backup solution, while only 55% are protected with a full business continuity solution, and only 38% of endpoints are backed up.

“At this moment, the core of any complete security strategy must rely on the assumption that cyberthreats will succeed, and you must have a continuity solution for recovering when that happens,” said Rob Rae, SVP business development at Datto. “The occurrence of natural disasters like hurricanes and forest fires, combined with a threat landscape that has capitalized on the COVID-19 pandemic, has left companies facing massive security challenges. We will address how MSPs can keep their clients up and running during times of disaster through Datto Unified Continuity.”

During the event, Datto’s Chief Technology Officer, Bob Petrocelli, will host a deep-dive technical session explaining how backup works today in a hybrid environment, and specifically what would be needed for true continuity in the public cloud. In addition, a panel of MSPs from around the world will discuss how they’ve found success with Datto’s Unified Continuity solutions during this pandemic and share examples of how they’ve used it in critical situations.
