Strengthens integration with DocuWorks, a document handling software with proven track record in Asia-Pacific markets

REDWOOD CITY, CA – June 22, 2022 — / BackupReview.info / — Box, Inc. (NYSE: BOX), the leading Content Cloud, today announced a technology collaboration with FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corporation. The collaboration features an enhanced integration to Box’s DocuWorks functionality, enabling “DocuWorks documents (.xdw)” to be previewed and searched on Box.

In recent years, many companies have embraced digital transformation, promoting various work styles and business efficiency, including remote work. In this environment, more than ever, business content must be easily viewed, searched, and securely shared anytime, anywhere, and from any device.

Owned by FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corporation, DocuWorks is a document handling software used by a cumulative total of 8 million licenses in Japan and Asia Pacific. Prior to this enhancement, DocuWorks documents had to be downloaded from Box to a DocuWorks-installed PC to view. In addition, because only file name search was available, it took added time to find desired content, sometimes hindering efficiency.

With the enhanced Box and DocuWorks integration, users will be able to store and save DocuWorks files in Box and preview them within Box, including via mobile devices. Paper-based documents are thereby digitized with DocuWorks, and the digital content is stored in Box. It can then be viewed, searched, and shared securely anytime, anywhere, and on any device, dramatically reducing the time and effort required for managing and accessing critical business content. Content silos can be eliminated, and efficiency can improve across an entire business. In addition, Box’s full range of advanced security functionality can be used to satisfy both convenience, efficiency, and security, allowing users to concentrate on their work with peace of mind.

We have received an endorsement from Toru Fujita, General Manager, Solution Service Business, Enterprise Document Solutions Business Group, FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corporation for this announcement.

“We sincerely welcome the expansion of Box’s support for DocuWorks documents through this collaboration. Through DocuWorks, Fujifilm Business Innovation has been supporting the digitization of business operations based on the concept of an ‘electronic desk’ that reproduces the ease of handling paper on a PC. Through this collaboration, the Box service will enable users to directly search and view necessary documents ‘anywhere’ and support a variety of work styles that are not restricted by location, thereby contributing to the acceleration of customers’ digital transformation (DX). We will continue to strengthen our partnership with Box and provide a variety of solutions to help our customers improve their productivity and efficiency.”

“Many users in Asian markets including Japan use the Box Content Cloud and DocuWorks together to help them conduct secure work from anywhere,” said Diego Dugatkin, Chief Product Officer at Box. “With this preview enhancement, the integration between Box and DocuWorks will be even more frictionless and secure. Users will be able to easily view DocuWorks files in Box in real time, from anywhere or any device, facilitating easier collaboration on content.”
