TOKYO, Japan – September 30, 2019 — /BackupReview.info/ — NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT Group (TYO: 9432), announced today that it will offer low-cost, scalable object storage through its new Enterprise Cloud Wasabi Object Storage service beginning October 1. The service will be delivered in collaboration with Wasabi Technologies, Inc. (Wasabi), an object storage service provider founded in Boston, Massachusetts, USA in 2016. Object storage is a storage architecture that handles data in units of objects.
As an introductory campaign, customers of NTT Com’s Enterprise Cloud service will be allowed to use Enterprise Cloud Wasabi Object Storage (U.S. and Netherlands regions) free of charge through the end of October.
Enterprise Cloud Wasabi Object Storage is one of the functions of NTT Com’s newly launched Smart Data Platform, which provides data-focused businesses with comprehensive data-utilization functions for corporate digital transformation (DX).
The use of unstructured data such as documents, movies, images and audio are increasing at an exceedingly high pace. For companies that must use massive amounts of data for their DX initiatives, secure, large-capacity storage is indispensable.
NTT Com’s new service provides secure storage of virtually unlimited data, backed by the company’s highly reliable Enterprise Cloud. Unlike conventional storage, which requires time to read data from magnetic tapes, this new service allows data to be read at high speed at any time. In addition, by linking with Smart Data Platform functions for interconnection, etc., secure data analysis and centralized management is possible in public clouds.
David Friend, president, CEO and co-founder of Wasabi, said, “Our collaboration with NTT Com will provide disruptively low cost, high performance and infinitely scalable cloud storage service for data utilization to the APAC region and beyond. We look forward to creating new value and contributing to global digital transformation through this exciting partnership.”
Features
NTT Com has launched its Smart Data Platform service and ecosystem as a DX Enabler™ that supports the DX initiatives of its customers.
