SUNNYVALE, CA – February 03, 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — Edge data protection solution provider Druva announced today that Dave Packer, Senior Director, Product Marketing, has been selected to speak about mobile data preservation and governance on Wednesday, February 4 at both LegalTech New York and the associated Law Firm Chief Information & Technology Officers Forum. The issue has become a major concern for both IT and legal professionals because an estimated 28% of business content now resides exclusively on laptops, tablets and smartphones, most of which lack necessary governance controls for compliance and eDiscovery.

Packer’s 2pm presentation at the Law Firm Chief Information & Technology Officers Forum, “Ensuring the Integrity of Information Governance in an Increasingly Mobile Enterprise,” will focus on the implementation of mobile governance procedures in a law firm environment. The session will include a discussion of different approaches, challenges, cost-effectiveness, strategies for minimizing impact on end user productivity, and specific examples of organizations that have successfully gained control over their distributed mobile data.

Packer will also serve on a 10:30am LegalTech panel on user-centric discovery titled “Data Preservation in a User-Centric Mobile, Social and Cloud World.” Hosted by eDiscovery pioneer Recommind, the session will address how corporations are implementing proactive litigation readiness plans for cloud solutions, social networks and mobile endpoints while simultaneously reducing the time, expense, risks and end user impact associated with the process.

According to a recent Forrester Consulting survey, eDiscovery is rapidly displacing compliance as the #1 governance concern for enterprise IT and legal teams. Nearly half of the IT and litigation professionals responding to the survey indicated that eDiscovery will be their top priority in handling endpoint governance in the next 12 to 24 months as they respond to the shifting technology landscape triggered by mobile devices and related factors.

Packer’s expertise on the topic stems from the eDiscovery enablement capabilities of Druva’s inSync endpoint data protection and governance platform. inSync can be remotely deployed across both company- and employee-owned devices without end user knowledge, transparently create and continually update a centralized record of all endpoint data and shared files that is accessible by federated search, preserve relevant data in place without the need to export it to an intermediary server, and support ingestion into eDiscovery systems for processing, review and analysis. These functions expedite data collection, ensure data integrity and dramatically reduce eDiscovery costs.

Both LegalTech New York and the Law Firm Chief Information & Technology Officers Forum will be held at the Hilton New York.
