Partnership Enables Existing Veeam(R) Customers to Target WOW! Business for Easy, Secure Offsite Data Backup Through Cloud Connect

ENGLEWOOD, CO – Apr 28, 2015 — / — WOW! Business, a communications and cloud service provider, today announced it has become a member of the Veeam Cloud Provider (VCP) program, enabling Veeam customers to backup data offsite by targeting the WOW! Business cloud infrastructure.

Specifically, the Veeam Cloud Directory provides a platform for existing Veeam users to find and connect with trusted Cloud Partners without the cost and complexity of offsite infrastructure. Veeam Cloud Connect provides a simple and secure platform to backup to a WOW! Business Cloud Repository. Additional integration with Production Cloud Infrastructure provides a Disaster Recovery option to meet Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).

“More and more businesses of all sizes are looking for an offsite data repository to replace tape and other onsite storage media,” said Brad Cheedle, senior vice president of WOW! Business. “Joining the Veeam Cloud Provider program enables us to offer a better level of data protection than many businesses currently have when storing and backing up data inside their own buildings and offices. As a VCP, WOW! Business can provide simple, cost-effective offsite backup for any Veeam customer, on-net or off-net, from anywhere in the U.S.”

WOW! Business provides IP-based network, data, voice and cloud services for small and mid-sized business, enterprise, government and wholesale customers. The company owns and operates more than 40,000 miles of local fiber-optic and coaxial networks in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest which, along with its data centers, provide customers with scalable, low-latency access to national carrier backbones.

Today’s announcement further augments the WOW! Business cloud computing strategy and follows an agreement WOW! Business recently reached to join the Telx Cloud Xchange Ecosystem. As part of Telx’s Cloud Xchange, customers have access to WOW! Business’ cloud-based Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), business continuity and disaster recovery services. It also allows WOW! Business to offer cloud computing services to more businesses outside of the WOW! Business fiber footprint. WOW! Business is connecting to the Telx Cloud Xchange at Telx data centers in Atlanta, Chicago and New York.

“Offering existing Veeam users a cloud-solution that utilizes the same familiar interface they have today makes it extremely easy to take advantage of a redundant, offsite solution,” added Brad Cheedle, Senior Vice President of Business Services for WOW!. “Our cloud solutions enable Veeam users, both on and off the WOW! network, an additional layer of Data Protection,” Cheedle adds.
