Arcserve Expands Unified Data Protection (UDP) Platform with the Launch of the Arcserve Cloud

New cloud service completes an organization’s data protection strategy with seamless, easy-to-deploy, and cost-effective disaster recovery

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – July 14, 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — Arcserve, LLC, a leading provider of data protection and recovery software and services, today announced the launch of the Arcserve® Cloud, an easy to deploy, cost-effective service for off-site data protection. Fully integrated with the Arcserve® Unified Data Protection (UDP) Appliance, the Arcserve Cloud empowers organizations to complete their data protection strategy with a seamless means to achieve disaster recovery and business continuity. It also adds a valuable option for Arcserve Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to extend their data protection solution portfolio.

The Arcserve Cloud will first be offered as a service extension to Arcserve’s UDP Appliance, which supports physical to physical, physical to virtual, and virtual to virtual. Encompassing global deduplication, encryption, compression, and WAN-optimized replication, the benefits of the cloud service go beyond critical data asset protection to offer advanced recovery capabilities such as:

Disaster Recovery as a Service: The ability to store valuable business data for disaster recovery without the cost and maintenance of dedicated hardware, racking, power, and IT resources or maintaining another third-party contract. Users may also spin up a virtual machine in the Arcserve Cloud for fast failover and failback.

Offsite Data Retention: Cloud storage for long-term data storage instead of maintaining local magnetic media or leveraging a third party to meet compliance requirements.

Disaster Recovery Testing: The ability to easily test application failover at any time without expensive infrastructure, thereby ensuring data recovery plan efficiency and accuracy.
