MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – July 14, 2015 – / – Tintri, a leading producer of VM-aware storage (VAS) for virtualization and cloud environments, today announced that Rodney Billingsley has joined the company as Head of U.S. Federal Government sales. For more than 12 years, Mr. Billingsley has served as a trusted advisor to the U.S. Government, state and local agencies, federal value-added resellers and system integrators. Prior to joining Tintri, Mr. Billingsley held various leadership positions at Simplivity, VMware, EMC and StorageTek.

“Tintri already has great momentum in the U.S. Federal Government—having helped more than 20 government agencies realize the time and cost savings of VM-aware storage,” said Michael McGuire, Tintri’s Chief Sales Officer. “I’m thrilled to add Rodney to our team. His experience and ideas will help us reinforce our strong channel partner relationships and continue to build upon our successful Federal practice.”

“We are excited to have Rodney join the Tintri leadership team in the Federal market space in support of Carahsoft and our ecosystem partners,” said Craig P. Abod, President of Carahsoft. “Rodney is a tenured Federal leader and we look forward to working with him.”

Tintri’s solutions have already been implemented by more than 20 U.S. Federal Government agencies, including:

  • Department of Agriculture
  • Department of Commerce
  • Department of Defense
  • Department of Energy
  • Department of Justice
  • Department of State
  • United States Senate
  • National Aeronautics and Space Administration
  • The Intelligence Communities
  • Combatant Commands (COCOMs)

In describing the implementation of Tintri’s solution at the Department of Defense Cyber Range, a customer reports, “We have a highly virtualized environment that requires both rapid updates and scaling – requirements that pose huge challenges for traditional storage. Tintri enables us to easily deploy and tear down virtual machines as needed and on demand, drastically increasing the rate of change in cloud environments.”

And at another government agency that recently converted from NetApp to Tintri, the primary user said, “I have been managing IT infrastructure for over 14 years and have yet to find anything as easy to deploy as the Tintri systems.”
