dinApp Makes Software Applications Portable Across Operating Systems and Devices

LOS ANGELES, CA – November 12, 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — dinCloud, a cloud services provider that helps organizations rapidly migrate to the cloud, today announced dinApp, its application virtualization platform. Part of dinCloud’s Hosted Workspace Portfolio, dinApp allows organizations to run efficiently without being held back by applications that cannot run on modern infrastructure, or applications that require multiple instances.

dinApp runs in the cloud on dinCloud’s secure servers and can be accessed by any physical or virtual desktop or mobile device (e.g. Chromebook, Mac, Android, or Windows device). Instead of virtualizing apps within an existing infrastructure, organizations now have an easy and flexible way to minimize security threats without continuous maintenance costs, saving both time and money.

Additional dinApp features include:

  • Portability: deliver Windows applications to any physical/virtual Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook, iPad, or Android device instantly.
  • Microsoft Active Directory Integration: easily provision/de-provision applications based on users/groups.
  • Multi-instance: run multiple versions of the same application (MSIE8, MSIE11, etc.) at the same time, on any endpoint.
  • Modernization: deliver legacy applications that won’t run in the current operating system.
  • Affordability: dinApp is a fraction of the cost of competing solutions.

“Deploying and maintaining applications are a demanding task that any IT expert wants done right the first time. Traditional approaches try to stuff an application into a virtual bubble, or stream it live, which creates limitations,” said Mike Chase, CTO at dinCloud. “dinApp solves the application virtualization problem by allowing users to install applications into a Windows operating system, and then easily deliver that to anyone, anywhere.”

App Virtualization Use Cases
dinApp is ideal for customers with legacy, web-based applications that need MSIE8 and MSIE11 browsers to be available on their desktops simultaneously, wanting to extend their Windows applications to their mobile devices, or deploy multiple iterations of the same version of an application with different parameters simultaneously to a desktop. For example, DermaTran Health Solutions, a national group of compounding pharmacies, is using dinApp to deploy a pharmacy application with multiple instances simultaneously.

“We had database-driven applications that, due to registry constraints, would not allow multiple instances of the application to open using different database servers. Through Citrix XenApp deployment we were able to open multiple instances of the application. However, there was an issue with the client drive mapping that wouldn’t allow connectivity from the XenApp layer through to the client mapped drives. All attempts to resolve this issue by Citrix and our previous cloud provider failed,” said Jesse Davis, Network Administrator at DermaTran Health Solutions. “CDW introduced us to dinCloud who listened to our needs and provided a working solution through dinApp.  With dinApp, we can deploy those legacy applications to the same client without any of the issues we previously experienced. The seamless desktop integration provides our employees with an easy to understand application access method that mimics that of a standalone workstation.  Pricing of the dinCloud services lowered our bill by almost 2/3rd while providing all of the functionality we required.”

Pricing and Availability
The dinApp service is $20 per user and consists of various components. Prices are generally determined based on the number of users. For more pricing details, visit: https://www.dincloud.com/application-virtualization/pricing
