Nominations from top higher ed leaders led to the selection of products that enhance learning

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Jan. 5, 2016 — /BackupReview.info/ — Code42, the leader in endpoint data protection and security for the enterprise, today announced its Code42 CrashPlan enterprise endpoint backup solution was selected as a 2015 University Business Readers’ Choice Top Product.

The award—which Code42 also won in 2014 and 2013—informs higher ed leaders about products their colleagues around the country are using to help their campuses excel in a variety of areas, such as technology, sustainability and academic instruction. The winners were compiled from hundreds of nominations from the magazine’s readers over the past year. The Readers’ Choice Top Products list has been announced online and in the January 2016 issue of University Business.

“Given the amount of data generated on university campuses each day, end-user backup is of critical concern for higher ed IT departments,” said Joe Payne, president and CEO at Code42. “The work commissioned by today’s universities is produced and stored on faculty and staff laptops—it’s an asset that must be protected. We’re honored to be selected by the world’s top universities and entrusted with securing their intellectual property.”

Leading colleges and universities rely on Code42 for laptop and desktop data backup and protection, including The Ohio State University, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston University, University of Notre Dame, University of Texas and seven of the eight Ivy League schools.

“It was inspiring to learn about the products being used in today’s colleges and universities that are helping students succeed,” said JD Solomon, editorial director at University Business. “All of our 2015 honorees should be very proud of their success.”

The recognition further validates Code42’s commitment to providing secure endpoint backup to the higher education community. Code42 joined InCommon, the trust federation for U.S. research and education institutions, and has achieved significant momentum since the Internet2 NET+ CrashPlan launch.
