New chief revenue officer and vice president of customer experience will amplify company’s global development and help companies protect their businesses, no matter what

NORWALK, CONN. – February 16, 2016 — /BackupReview.info/ — Datto, an innovative provider of comprehensive data backup, recovery and business continuity solutions, today announced that it has appointed R. Brooks Borcherding as its chief revenue officer (CRO) and Emily Glass as its vice president of customer experience. The two seasoned industry veterans join the executive team on the heels of a landmark year for Datto, as the company achieved more than 50 percent year-over-year growth and expanded into EMEA and Australia.

Datto manages more than 180 petabytes of data on behalf of its MSP partners around the world, and with more than a million backups a week for its user base, its Total Data Protection Platform protects customers’ business data wherever it lives. The company’s customer-centric approach to infrastructure and solutions is gaining rapid traction worldwide, as Datto services have proven invaluable to companies who depend on the cloud for full backup, disaster recovery and business continuity services.

“It’s clear that both Brooks and Emily are incredible assets for Datto, as each has proven experience and is a perfect culture fit,” said Austin McChord, CEO and founder of Datto. “Brooks has a deep understanding of managed services and his global expansion experience is known throughout the industry. Emily has a proven ability to personalize support services, rally teams and exceed high standards for customer service. Both will be invaluable as Datto continues working toward its goal of protecting customers’ data everywhere.”

Borcherding is an industry veteran with more than 25 years of enterprise IT, cloud computing and services experience, and is well respected for his international growth strategies and successes. He is charged with overseeing Datto’s revenue growth for sales, marketing and business development teams. He was previously the president of Cloud Advisory Services, LLC, and the senior vice president of enterprise and carrier sales at Time Warner Cable (TWC). Borcherding also led NaviSite, a leading provider of enterprise-class managed cloud services, as its CEO and president, through a global expansion and 2011 acquisition by TWC. He also had successful tenures at Avaya, Cisco and Accenture.

Borcherding said, “Datto is truly transformative. Its creative approach to cloud-enabled business continuity places the company levels above traditional backup providers. Datto’s commitment to innovative technology to solve common IT challenges positions the company for tremendous success. And our customer centricity, coupled with truly great people, makes it a team I look forward to guiding and supporting.”

Glass joins Borcherding on Datto’s executive team. Formerly the vice president of customer care at Backupify, and most recently the vice president of training and professional services at Datto, Glass will lead the company’s training and support departments in a joint effort to enhance customer experience. The initiative will involve an expanded Datto Academy with sales and technical educational resources, an online community for partners, and personalized support options, built on a foundation of trust between Datto and its partner organizations. The program will employ KPI metrics such as customer satisfaction and customer effort to ensure its efficacy. Glass’ career expertise in innovating and differentiating customer support programs backs Datto’s customer-first strategy.

“Datto’s relationships with its partners are ingrained in the company’s culture, as they are considered an extension of Datto’s core team,” Glass said. “Our customer experience initiative will uncover and act upon ways to better equip and serve partners and end users, and I expect it to make great strides and propel the business forward on a global scale in 2016.”
