LONDON, UK – 14 April 2016 — /BackupReview.info/ — Tintri Inc., a leading producer of VM-Aware Storage (VAS) for virtualisation and cloud environments, today announced that its VMstore solution has won the Storage Product of the Year category with its customer, University of Hull, at the UK Cloud Awards 2016. The accolade was presented to Tintri at a ceremony at the Skylon in London.

The UK Cloud Awards, now in its third year, celebrates innovation, entrepreneurialism and technical excellence in the UK cloud IT market. The event took place on Tuesday April 12 and brought IT leaders, vendors and customers together to celebrate with some of the industry’s leading cloud experts.

The Tintri VMstore™ is designed to address the needs of virtualisation and cloud environments. Built using Tintri’s VM-Aware Storage (VAS) architecture, it sees storage at the virtual machine (VM) and vDisk level—adapting to rapidly changing workloads, eliminating mundane storage management tasks and delivering substantial improvements in performance and density over legacy storage.

Recently Tintri has helped the University of Hull to increase performance and simplify management with its VMstore solution. Craig Stephenson, Data Storage Manager, University of Hull commented: “Tintri has met and surpassed all of our expectations for performance, manageability, and resiliency. As a result, Tintri will be our default storage platform for our virtual systems going forward.”

Yael Zheng, CMO at Tintri, commented: “Tintri recognises the need for simplified and high performance storage solutions. Our solutions are designed to specifically address the mismatch between traditional storage and virtualisation. We are honored to have received this award within the cloud industry as recognition of our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that meet our customers’ needs.”
