RESTON, Va. – March 6, 2018 — / — ORock® Technologies, Inc., announced today that its ORockCloud offering received an “In Process” designation from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). ORockCloud is now designated as “FedRAMP In Process” at the Moderate Impact Level under the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) models, with sponsorship provided by a Department of Defense agency.

The “FedRAMP In Process” designation indicates to government agencies that a cloud service provider (CSP) is actively working with a sponsoring agency to achieve FedRAMP authorization. It confirms the CSP and the agency are committed to achieving an Authority to Operate (ATO) that meets FedRAMP requirements in a timely manner.

ORockCloud provides a secure, highly-scalable, bi-coastal cloud environment with elastic, on-demand access to computing, storage, virtualization, networking, performance monitoring, and applications in ORock’s service catalog. It is built on ORock’s private, carrier-grade, encrypted fiber network to maximize security and performance.

As a Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider, ORock offers a “pure-play” open source environment that is designed to deliver enhanced flexibility, security features and control. The following services are In Process for FedRAMP authorization from the DoD: Red Hat Enterprise Linux; Red Hat OpenStack; Red Hat Ceph Storage; Red Hat CloudForms; Red Hat Ansible Tower; Red Hat Satellite and all associated cloud APIs. In addition, ORock provides SaaS offerings and services including ORock Federal Authorization Services (FAS) and ORock VirtualClouds, which enables secure mobile cloud access.

“The ‘FedRAMP In Process’ designation marks an important step for our company,” said Gregory Hrncir, CEO of ORock. “We look forward to achieving FedRAMP authorization of our Moderate cloud and working with the Federal government in delivering a highly secure and modular architecture through our cloud offerings.”

“OpenStack has become a cloud platform of choice for organizations wanting a highly scalable IaaS platform and Ansible is a popular open source automation technology for managing IT environments at scale, in part because it is designed to be simple to adopt, use, and understand,” said Dave Egts, chief technologist, Public Sector at Red Hat, Inc. “We’re excited to support ORock as a Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider that is using open source technologies to help meet the needs of our government and commercial customers and we congratulate them on ORockCloud’s ‘FedRAMP In Process’ status.”
