Strategic partnership generates success for joint client with disaster recovery, hosted services and development of long-term IT strategy

IRVINE, Calif. – March 15, 2018 — / — RapidScale, a leader in managed cloud services, today announced a strategic partnership with Opex Technologies, a hybrid technology brokerage and advisor for cloud, data center, security and network solutions located in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The partnership enables the companies to offer a full portfolio of managed cloud services, including Desktop as a Service (DaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), to the small to mid-size enterprise market in North Carolina and greater southeast region. Businesses have access to cloud services delivered by IT and technology experts with 24x7x365 support, management and enterprise-grade infrastructure, regardless of size or industry. In addition to managed cloud services, companies also have the unique opportunity for representation during critical technology decisions for greater efficiency, accountability and value.

The two companies have already demonstrated success, recently serving the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association, a local organization operating from a building they had to vacate due to a historic five-alarm fire that occurred in downtown Raleigh in March 2017. At that time, NCSA hosted its servers on-site and, as a result of the fire, its entire IT environment, including core applications and internal data center, was taken offline. The organization’s backup platform was not optimally configured, so the full recovery process took months, causing a major disruption to business and affecting all of their employees.

“Opex and RapidScale helped us implement a proven and tested disaster recovery plan for data and mission-critical business applications,” said Edmond Caldwell, Jr., executive vice president and general counsel, NCSA. “The companies have become trusted advisors through this process as they have worked to analyze our unique needs and determine the right solution to help us recover from this event and develop a more strategic, long-term IT strategy.”

Opex analyzed potential solutions, providers and costs to help NCSA stabilize and implement next-generation technology to recover and drive its business forward. Together, Opex and RapidScale designed and executed a fully-managed cloud solution to address the points of failure often found in traditional on-site infrastructure, and now provide day-to-day IT support and resources for critical IT decisions.

“With today’s simpler and more affordable cloud and DRaaS solutions and providers, every business should invest in a DR plan before it’s too late,” commented Rich Nowalk, COO, Opex Technologies. “Partnering with RapidScale allows us to expand our expertise and improve our value model to help clients fully maximize their technology investments.”

“In collaboration with Opex, we’re able to serve the North Carolina and southeastern markets with our signature reliable and trustworthy managed cloud computing services, now with a local presence in their own backyard,” noted Bob Buchanan, executive vice president, sales and marketing, RapidScale. “We’re excited to be working with a company that embodies our same passion for helping clients meet their long-term strategic technology goals.”
