Woburn, MA – January 25, 2022 — / BackupReview.info / — Kaspersky North America has announced its annual commitment to champion Data Privacy Week 2022, an initiative that emphasizes transparency and educating businesses on the best practices for data collection that respect data privacy. As a champion, Kaspersky recognizes and supports the principle that all organizations share the responsibility of being conscientious stewards of personal information.
Data Privacy Week is an expanded effort from Data Privacy Day that generates awareness about the importance of privacy. This year, we are encouraging individuals to learn more about how to manage and protect their valuable online data. We are also encouraging businesses to respect customer data and learn about the responsibility they hold for keeping individuals’ personal information safe from unauthorized access and ensuring fair, relevant and legitimate data collection and processing.
“Privacy is very complex: being both a technological, an ethical and a legislative issue, it is shaped by interests of governments, businesses and people as citizens and consumers. Last year brought many new challenges and opportunities in the field of data privacy, and we saw much more attention given to how legitimate data collection by businesses, employers and governments can be detrimental to personal privacy. We expect a lot of interesting developments, as companies find new creative ways to both empower their customers to control their data and continue to provide value,” states Vladislav Tushkanov, privacy expert, Kaspersky.
To further the discussion of privacy, Kaspersky is hosting a roundtable webinar “The Future of Privacy: what to expect in 2022” on January 25, 2022 at 11am ET. The panel of experts will reflect on 2021’s most important privacy developments and discuss how perspective can change people’s attitude to the privacy question: business- and government-wise, human rights-wise, when it comes to personal life and even gets connected to domestic violence.
In addition, Kaspersky recommends adhering to the following tips offered up from The National Cybersecurity Alliance to help guide individuals and businesses to better data privacy practices:
