London UK – Feb 2023 — / BackupReview.info / — As we come towards the end of the pandemic wave and look ahead into 2023, Backup Everything sees the Public Cloud market for the SMB market stronger than ever. This alongside record growth for new customers during 2022, make the coming year an exciting one for Cloud Backup adoption since pre-Covid levels.

Record Growth

At the end of 2022 Backup Everything gained a record 1,000 customers in 12 months making the total across all of its solutions to 4,000. Customers can use Data Centre facilities in UK, Ireland, USA, Canada and Singapore with backup for Microsoft 365 being the biggest uptake for new customer acquisition.

Saaher Muzafer, CEO of Backup Everything says, “We are truly grateful for the continued trust in our cloud backup services from existing customers and would like to thank and welcome our new customers who came on board during 2022. The growth has been humbling and we can see the market continuing its trend for the foreseeable future especially the need to backup Microsoft 365 which is at unprecedented levels”.

Backup Everything 2023 Cloud Backup predictions can be split into the following notable areas:

  • Onsite SharePoint vs Microsoft 365
  • Low Storage Costs means new data being protected
  • Organic Data Growth at its Highest Levels
  • Consolidation into a Single Provider

Onsite SharePoint vs Microsoft 365

This is taking place already and will continue to escalate this year and beyond. Servers are being de-commissioned and migration to Microsoft 365 especially for SharePoint are a common practice. The need for small inhouse Data Centres to manage these servers may also disappear depending on the compliance requirements for the business but we can see this shift and almost downsizing occurring on a regular basis.

Low Storage Costs means new data being protected

Businesses with multiple Servers and Endpoints may in the past have chosen to customize their backup sets by selecting only certain sources for backup. Now due to better bandwidth and lower storage, much more data is being protected. For a previous 100GB package this could be equivalent to a 200GB plan at today’s rate, therefore customers are backing up data which they would have otherwise not done so.

Organic Data Growth at its Highest Levels

In these times data is never static, by default we are generating more new information every second when compared to previous years. This is due to the nature of our work, technological enhancements, work/life balance plus many other factors. Compare our habits to decades ago and we can see that organic data growth i.e. increments of our master data which still needs to be backed up increasing faster than ever.

Consolidation into a Single Provider

The misconception with aggregating services into one MSP is not to want to find a single solution that does it all but more the need to have everything with a main provider. This could be over many solutions from different vendors that they offer but this model enables that there is one contact for everything. Billing and Support would also be easier to manage as the alternative would be having multiple invoices to pay and different teams of support to deal with. We see this trend rising very steeply and will continue to do so.

Saaher continues,” We have taken on board comments from customers, feedback from the market, industry news and done general research to come to our predictions. For the SMB market in particular where customers need that extra element of onboarding and support we don’t see data sizes decreasing or even following a linear pattern, in fact the trajectory is going up and shows no signs of stopping”.
