NORWALK, CT – June 4, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — Kicking off the second annual Datto Partner Conference with a keynote speech at the ARIA Resort & Casino, Datto founder and CEO Austin McChord today announced to a room full of Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Value-Added Resellers (VARs), and sponsoring vendors, Datto’s newest innovation, Virtual SIRIS.

Designed to leverage the proven reliability and centralized resource management of VMware’s industry-leading hypervisor, Virtual SIRIS enables Datto partners to provide their clients with a business continuity solution that operates on the same platform as their existing virtual infrastructure. At launch, the product will be compatible with VMware ESXi versions 5.1 and 5.5.

“The market demands products that work within virtual environments,” said McChord. “Many of the aspects that make Datto products great are founded in the benefits of virtualization, and breaking into this platform has opened endless possibilities for the future of both Datto and our partners. In developing Virtual SIRIS, we translated those benefits into a simple tool that enables partners to dramatically scale their business and more cost-effectively service the clients that they acquire.”

The addition of Virtual SIRIS to the SIRIS 2 product family reinforces Datto’s 2014 theme of “Business Continuity Built From the Ground Up,” in that it builds on the same core software and interface that is found in the traditional, physical SIRIS 2 appliances. It was with this technology that Datto reinvented not only the prevention of system downtime, via instant virtual-failover, but also the ease of protecting and restoring data.

Two key differentiators give Virtual SIRIS a competitive advantage over alternative industry solutions:

  • Instant virtual-failover for both physical and virtual systems without nested virtualization
  • Provides off-site redundancy through a secure hybrid cloud architecture

Working closely with partners throughout the development process has given Datto insight into what features will be prove valuable in the market, as Product Director Ian McChord stated, “Our goal is to equip partners with a comprehensive suite of solutions that delivers unmatched business continuity no matter what type of IT infrastructure needs to be protected. A virtual appliance is just another example of how Datto boils down the complexity of backup and disaster recovery (BDR) so that we can provide one solution that you can offer your customers – to keep their systems running and their data available.”
