Announcing Industry’s First VCAI Certified Storage With VM-Level Data Management, the First Reference Architecture for VMware Horizon 6 (With View), and Previewing Tintri ReplicateVM Integration With SRM

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – August 19, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — Tintri, the leading producer of smart storage for virtualization and cloud environments, today announced new products and deep integration with VMware vSphere and Horizon 6 (with View). Tintri will demonstrate these new products in booth 921 at VMworld 2014 in San Francisco on August 24-28.  In addition, Tintri will present six breakout sessions with customers and participate in industry panels throughout the conference.

Tintri is heading into VMworld with another record setting quarter. Customers have deployed hundreds of thousands of virtual machines (VMs) on thousands of Tintri VMstore arrays, storing more than 16 petabytes of user data.  The near doubling of live VMs running on Tintri since the beginning of the year corresponds with consecutive triple-digit quarterly growth year over year, the deployments of private cloud as one of the fastest growing user cases, and the acquisition of new accounts that are spending more than $1 million in single transactions on Tintri products and services.

Tintri, a platinum sponsor at VMworld, is announcing the following new products and features, which will be available for demo at the Tintri booth:

  • Tintri Integration for View Composer API for Array Integration (VCAI)

Tintri has recently achieved certification for View Composer API for Array Integration (VCAI), becoming the industry’s only VCAI-certified storage solution with VM-level data management capabilities. VCAI enables Tintri to tightly integrate with VMware Horizon (with View) to leverage Tintri native VM-level snapshots and clones for provisioning up to 2,000 desktop VMs on a single VMstore T650. This provides further differentiation in performance and space efficiency for VDI deployments.

  • Tintri Reference Architecture (RA) for VMware Horizon 6 (with View )

Tintri is announcing the industry’s first Reference Architecture (RA) for VMware Horizon 6 (with View) leveraging vSphere 5.5. This RA was tested with 1,000 users based on real-life test scenarios, user workloads and infrastructure system configurations. It combines the technologies of Tintri VMstore based on Tintri OS 3.0, VMware® ESXi™ 5.5, and Horizon 6 (with View) software to produce a highly efficient, robust and scalable virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) for a hosted virtual desktop deployment. The RA can be downloaded at http://info.tintri.com/vmware-horizon-view-cisco-ucs-tintri-vmstore-reference-architecture.html

  • Integration with VMware vCenter SRM
Tintri will preview ReplicateVM™ integration with VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager (SRM). Combining VM-granular replication with intelligent deduplication and compression, ReplicateVM reduces WAN bandwidth usage by up to 95 percent and provides seamless integration with SRM to enable automated orchestration and non-disruptive testing of disaster recovery workflows, such as failover and failback.

We are pleased to see Tintri VMstore perform so well in the Login VSI Benchmark tests to verify the VCAI and RA certification,” said Pim Brouwer, VP Alliances at Login VSI.  “Tintri has been a great partner and one of the first to achieve these important benchmarks with the new Login VSI 4.1.”

Additional Tintri demos that will be highlighted at VMworld 2014 include:

  • Tintri Support for VMware Virtual Volumes (VVOLs)

Tintri has been a VVols design partner and will be demonstrating support for VVOLs for the second consecutive VMworld. Tintri support for VVols leverages its FlashFirst™ architecture to provide 99 percent of all IO from flash for consistent sub-millisecond latencies. It also supports per-VM replication using Tintri ReplicateVM and built-in, per-VM QoS mechanisms.

  • Tintri vSphere Web Client Plugin

The Tintri vSphere Web Client Plugin provides VMstore dashboard information, including performance and space gauges, top performance and capacity changer VMs, VMstore alert monitoring and management in the vCenter interface. Per-VM data management allows administrators to create Tintri space- and performance-efficient snapshots and clones, and control WAN-efficient replication from within the vCenter interface. End-to-end, per-VM latency breakdowns provide the ability to instantly identify performance hot spots at the hypervisor, network and storage level with comprehensive performance visualization.

  • Tintri support for VMware vSphere Storage API for Array Integration (VAAI)

Tintri VAAI plugin lets administrators instantly create hundreds of space- and performance-efficient VM-level clones – directly from the VMware vCenter user interface.

  • New Tintri OS 3.0, Tintri Global Center 1.1, and Tintri Automation Toolkit based on PowerShell

These recently available products provide unparalleled density with an ability to run large-scale virtualization and private cloud deployments with up to 2,000 VMs on a VMstore T650. Enterprises can now deploy and manage up to 64,000 VMs spread across 32 geographically dispersed VMstore systems from a single Tintri Global Center 1.1 instance. The combination of these products delivers the industry’s only storage platform with VM-level data management as well as end-to-end VM-level automation.

“What we are demonstrating and presenting at VMworld shows the breadth and depth of our integration with the VMware ecosystem,” said Ken Klein, Chairman and CEO at Tintri. “With virtualization now the standard deployment model for applications, we are in complete alignment with VMware to bring more products with agility, scalability and a high level of automation to support our customers’ private cloud environments.”

Tintri will present six breakout sessions during the week:

  • BCO1811 – Top 10 Dos/Don’ts of Data Protection using VADP
    Tuesday, August 26, 2:30-3:30pm
  • INF3029 – Real-World Private Cloud: Tips and Tricks from a Fortune 1000 Enterprise Cloud Project
