Company wins the 2024 Value Chain Leadership Award from The Climate Registry

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – May 23, 2024 — / BackupReview.info / — Veritas Technologies, the leader in secure multi-cloud data management, today announced that The Climate Registry has awarded it the 2024 Value Chain Leadership Award for exceptional commitment, initiatives, performance and outcomes focused on scope 3 emissions.

As defined by the US Environmental Protection Agency, “Scope 3 emissions are the result of activities from assets not owned or controlled by the reporting organization, but that the organization indirectly affects in its value chain. An organization’s value chain consists of both its upstream and downstream activities.”

Among its recent scope 3 emissions achievements, Veritas worked with its freight provider to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the Europe to China and US to Canada transportation lanes by 90% each. The company also established an innovative asset disposition program that helped its value chain save 8 million kilograms of CO2 emissions, 4 billion liters of water and 52 million metric tons of earth.
