BARCELONA, SPAIN – Dec. 2, 2014 — / — HP today unveiled a new Intelligent Retention and Content Management solution that allows global organizations to intelligently manage data throughout its lifecycle, lowering potential risk and cost while also increasing the value that can be attained from enterprise information.

An Information Governance Solution to a Big Data Problem
This unique solution is designed for today’s Big Data problems.  Developed with the HP Haven big data analytics platform as its core, the solution allows customers to understand and analyze vast amounts of enterprise information. It enables enterprises to identify and analyze both known and unknown enterprise data, so it can be managed efficiently while ensuring that business-critical information is retained and accessible. This solution delivers superior business insight and value with a lower total cost of ownership.

“With the integration of HP StoreAll and HP ControlPoint, HP is transforming information governance and data storage economics by putting HP Haven big data analytics at the core,”said David Jones, general manager, Big Data Solutions, HP Software. “This unique HP software-hardware solution intelligently identifies, analyzes and manages all business content to ensure critical business information is retained, secured and accessible while simplifying the disposal of content with no value.”

This new integrated solution leverages HP Haven analytics to deliver many benefits, including:

  • A unified software and hardware solution from a single vendor that extends the concept of file analysis by comprehensively capturing, analyzing, managing, and retaining content in a completely secure environment to deliver greater value and business insight.
  • The enablement of the identification and automatic classification of valuable content within enterprise systems such as file shares, email and Microsoft SharePoint – according to policy to improve data accuracy and staff productivity.
  • Optimization of storage based on data value. Inactive but valuable content can be moved from tier 1 storage and migrated to StoreAll where it will be retained as a secure and possibly immutable (WORM) archive.
  • HP ControlPoint facilitates deletion of content with no business or legal value (redundant, obsolete and trivial content) based on policy to reduce overall storage requirements and cost. HP Records Manager allows for the long-term management of content to meet retention and compliance requirements at the file level.
