vCIO packages provide strategic IT direction for small businesses, health centers

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA – June 23, 2015 — / — Xtium, Inc., a leading managed cloud hosting, online backup and virtual disaster recovery services company, today announced a new offering to its portfolio – Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) services. Available on an hours-per month need, the vCIO offering provides small to mid-size companies with strategic advice as they plan and execute on cloud-based initiatives and optimize IT processes and systems. Xtium has already seen success with this new offering in the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) market, assisting FQHCs with their technology roadmap while helping them comply with HIPAA regulations and meet Meaningful Use.

“For most SMBs and FQHCs, it’s not feasible to employ a dedicated CIO full-time,” said Eric Rios, VP, Client Services & Healthcare Practice, Xtium. “Xtium’s vCIO services can give you exactly what a CIO can do for a company or health center at a fraction of the cost. The vCIO will give strategic planning in regards to IT, create a roadmap for your infrastructure, evaluate vendors, manage IT implementations and be the point for all IT needs.”

Xtium has five vCIO packages to choose from, starting at $450 per month.

Benefits of a vCIO include:

  • Lower costs: A vCIO can ensure a business isn’t overspending on hardware and that its computer systems work efficiently together. Companies can choose from a variety of plans to fit its needs and budget, without having to hire an expensive CIO full-time.
  • Disaster preparedness: A vCIO can help develop and test a disaster recovery plan to get a company back up and running quickly should it be faced with an unexpected outage or data loss.
  • Expert advice: With a vCIO, a company has access to top IT and cloud experts that help its team put the right IT systems, software and strategy in place to support its goals, employees, and clients – both now and in the future.
  • Time back in the day: A vCIO will free up time for other employees and senior management to focus on those tasks that are most important to them and the organization.

“Our Xtium vCIO has brought to us a wealth of knowledge and experience, and has a clear understanding of what it takes to be successful,” said James Crandall, Systems Administrator, Ampla Health. “He has been able to represent us at the executive level, and his overall vision of the healthcare IT industry has provided Ampla Health with the forward thinking to achieve our long term goals. The contacts that he has provided have been an invaluable resource as well.”
