Company Unveils New Ways to Work in the Cloud at BoxWorks 2015

Before an audience of thousands of IT leaders at BoxWorks, Box co-founder and CEO Aaron Levie introduced new ways to work in the cloud with immersive new content experiences, expanded integrations to support content collaboration, and a mobile app to connect content in the field to business processes. Box also introduced two Box Platform offerings – Developer and Enterprise – to bring the full power of the Box Platform to customers, enabling them to build transformative experiences for their own customers, partners and broader ecosystem.

Box also announced it has surpassed 40 million registered users and has more than 50,000 customers, including 52% of the Fortune 500. Leading organizations including the U.S. Department of Justice, Toyota, AstraZeneca, Barneys New York, Legendary Pictures, General Electric and IBM use Box to power enterprise content management and collaboration globally. Box was also recently named a leader in “The Forrester Wave™: ECM Business Content Services, Q3 ’15” report where it received the highest score for its enterprise content management (ECM) strategy, with a 4.7 on a scale of 5.

Box Platform will be available as two plans, Developer and Enterprise. Developer is a free plan that allows customers and developers to test and design their app experience. The Enterprise plan is designed for enterprise customers building apps that are generally available and in production. Pricing for ISVs building on the Box Platform will be announced in the coming months.

In addition to showing customers how they can reimagine work in the cloud with Box, the company also outlined how companies are transforming their business with the Box Platform. The Box Platform allows customers including General Electric, CAA, Schneider Electric, Eli Lilly and FICO to build engaging, custom content experiences for both their internal and external audiences. More than 50,000 developers are building applications on Box and more than 1,600 applications are integrated with the Box Platform.
-DICOM support is currently available in closed beta and is expected to be generally available later this year.
-HD Video is expected to be in beta by end of year.
-The Box for Office Online integration is currently available today. DocuSign, Adobe and Autodesk integrations are expected to be available in 2016.
