NAKIVO continues to announce new features that will be available in the upcoming NAKIVO Backup & Replication v7, scheduled for release in Q1 2017

CAMPBELL, CA – Jan. 24, 2017 — /BackupReview.info/ — NAKIVO Inc., one of the fastest-growing virtualization and cloud backup software companies, today announced that the upcoming NAKIVO Backup & Replication v7 will provide integration with Microsoft Active Directory.

Registration for v7 Beta is available at www.nakivo.com/resources/whats-new-in-v7.html

Microsoft Active Directory is one of the most popular directory services and enables organizations to improve security, manageability, and scalability. NAKIVO Backup & Replication v7 will enable mapping Active Directory groups to NAKIVO Backup & Replication user roles, which will allow domain users to log in to NAKIVO Backup & Replication with their domain credentials. Integration with Active Directory will enable organizations to align NAKIVO Backup & Replication with their security policy and simplify user access to NAKIVO Backup & Replication.

NAKIVO Backup & Replication v7 will further improve backup manageability by introducing the Activities tab, which will provide a bird’s eye view of all activities occurring in the product, such as running jobs, file and object recovery sessions, as well as repository maintenance tasks. The new feature will enable backup administrators to better monitor and manage data protection activities.

The new version will also provide an easy way to delete VM backups in bulk. VM backups that do not belong to any job or backups that are older than a specified time frame can be easily filtered out, reviewed, and deleted with a single click. This feature improves VM backup manageability and simplifies removal to free up space.

In addition to the above, NAKIVO has previously announced the following new features in v7:

  • Hyper-V support: Backup, replication, and recovery of Hyper-V 2016 and 2012 VMs
  • vSphere v6.5 support Backup, replication, and recovery for VMware vSphere 6.5
  • Skip swap file: Automated swap file exclusion in Windows-based and Linux-based Hyper-V and VMware VMs to improve VM backup performance and reduce storage space.

“Integration with Microsoft Active Directory will enable SME organizations to seamlessly incorporate NAKIVO Backup & Replication v7 in their virtualized and cloud environments, while improving data protection security and manageability,” said Bruce Talley, CEO and co-founder of NAKIVO.
