Veeam has been ramping up its cloud business through key partners since last year, and is now closer to its goal of becoming a $1bn software company

RESTON, VA – May 22, 2018 — / — Hosting and cloud services firm OVH US has chosen Veeam Software as a secure backup option for its OVHcloud solution set. French firm OVH is already a major Veeam solutions partner in Europe.

In the US, Veeam Software will act as a production backup tool for OVH’s vSphere-based Dedicated Cloud and Enterprise Dedicated Cloud offerings, being the foundation of its hosted and self-service backup and recovery services. “Automated backups, simple restoration and daily reporting functions will be set up and ready to go with just a few clicks,” said OVH.

Russell Reeder, CEO of OVH US, said: “Our partnership with Veeam is part of our continued quest to give our customers peace of mind when it comes to protecting their data, their most precious asset.”

Matt Kalmenson, vice president of North American cloud and service provider sales at Veeam Software, said: “This partnership offers significant value to Veeam and OVH US customers by offering fully automated backups that have zero impact on storage resources.”

At the beginning of the year, Veeam Software posted total booking revenues of $827m for the 12 months of 2017, an increase of 36% percent over 2016. That value put the firm ever closer to founder Ratmir Timashev’s well publicised goal of $1bn in sales.

Peter McKay, Co-CEO and president of Veeam, said at the time: “Organisations across the globe are dealing with massive data sprawl, and the need to ensure availability of data and applications across a complex multi-cloud environment has never been greater.

“Our leadership and momentum in delivering availability for any app and data across any cloud has us well poised to be a billion-dollar software company by the end of 2018.”

To help it on its way to that goal, Veeam strengthened its relationships with key alliance partners such as HPE, Cisco and NetApp.
