New K10 release provides comprehensive security and increased operational simplicity for cloud-native data management for enterprises

LOS ALTOS, CA – November 5, 2019 — /BackupReview.info/ — Kasten, a provider of cloud-native data management solutions, today announced the general availability of Kasten K10 2.0. Purpose-built for Kubernetes, K10 provides enterprise operations teams with an easy-to-use, scalable and secure system for backup & restore, disaster recovery and mobility of Kubernetes applications. The new release includes significant security features and greater ease-of-use for accelerated adoption of cloud-native applications.

“As many enterprises embrace cloud-native applications and adopt Kubernetes, they are finding that the transition can be challenging and often complex, especially in relation to data management of stateful applications and day-2 operations,” said Brad Casemore, VP of research for datacenter networks at IDC. “Kasten continues to develop its K10 platform to simplify ongoing cloud-native data management for these enterprise customers, addressing a growing number of important use cases in the process.”

Providing enterprise-grade cloud-native data management
Already resonating with enterprise operations professionals interested in addressing critical Day 2 issues, K10 version 2.0 includes important new features that address two of the greatest pain points plaguing expanding Kubernetes deployments today: security and operational simplicity.

With data security concerns being top-of-mind for users, K10 2.0 offers comprehensive, end-to-end security. K10 2.0 includes support for Kubernetes authentication, Role Based Access Control (RBAC), OpenID Connect (OIDC), AWS IAM roles, customer-managed keys, and integrated encryption of artifacts at rest and in-flight. K10 is built to protect and keep valuable enterprise data safe.

In addition, K10 2.0 boasts key features that provide users with advanced operational simplicity. Powered by an easy-to-use, state-of-the-art data management interface, the platform comes equipped with a Kubernetes-native API, auto-discovery of the application environment, policy-driven operations, straightforward multi-tenancy support, and advanced logging and monitoring, allowing teams to confidently operate their environments while supporting developers’ ability to use best-of-breed tools of their choice.

“Kasten is continuing to innovate to address the Day 2 challenges faced by some of the largest enterprises looking to benefit from the Kubernetes revolution,” said Vaibhav Kamra, co-founder and VP, Engineering, of Kasten, “I am proud of the agility with which our team continues to respond to pressing market needs.”

K10’s application-centric approach and deep integrations with relational and NoSQL databases, Kubernetes distributions and all clouds provides teams with the freedom of infrastructure choice without sacrificing operational simplicity. Policy-driven and extensible, K10 provides a native Kubernetes API and includes features such as full-spectrum consistency, database integrations, automatic application discovery, multi-cloud mobility, and a powerful web-based user interface.
